It is IMAP related. I did another search through all mails except my IMAP account which I completely switched off. Search time was less than 5 seconds and I had to be fast to hit "stop" which was responded rather quick (felt time less than half a second) Turning on IMAP account brings back the problem. It is definitely not OTFE-related.
