I did a check using Windows verifier.exe, and all drivers are as they should be, according to that. Then I did a fresh download of v. 3.81.05 and installed it over v. 3.80.06. Same incomplete paint job plus flickering Mail Ticker. Since v. 3.80.06 runs just fine for me and versions 3.81.03, .04, and .05 have this problem at launch, and based on this most recent test, I don't think my drivers are the source of the difficulty. I notice at the download page that RitLabs is planning a release of v. 3.82.
