Just supported that wish strongly. Can the group think about a solution as easy as possible to *add* a new label/bookmark if one needs to? Maybe similar to watched folders there should be a "new label" entry in the submenu where you assign the labels? But as I think about it: a submenu or context menu would not be very effective when selecting more than one label for a message.
