Hello Paul,

> The US Dept. of Defense has banned HTML and Microsoft email clients

Where is news about it? DoE should do the same :)) Our secretaries
send ENORMOUS files just to say: Ok. It's like a tournament for them
in the "Who can waste the most bandwidth" category.

> Don't you even suggest that we turn TB into the same crap. "Being in
> business" is _no_ excuse for adulterating TB! If you want to jump in
> the lake and drown, do it. Don't take anyone else with you. History

:)))))))) That was a very harsh comment, you must have listened the
Michael Savage show :))

I am on both sides of this discussion and by selling TB! also I can
see customer wishes.

What you talk about would be viable IF Ritlabs would be a nonprofit
agency. Then they could go for the "best for the mankind" email
client. Unfortunately, they have to feed their family, too. As us.
They just have to go with the flow sometimes. See the HTML editor.
Nobody can prove me why HTML mail MUST be used in business. There is
just no reason for it. Any formatted data can be send as attach. But
people are being brainwashed everyday, children coming out of US
schools with lots of medals and cups (getting those for e.g. standing
in a straight line before lunch... I am serious), not hearing anything
else, but only "good job", "fantastic work", "marvellous behavior"
etc. even the laziest, most stupid children. They will be adults. So,
this is your market. What can you sell them? Email client that is easy
to use, no need to think, everything is taken care of. Reading
manuals, help??? Come on...

I dont think, that TB! would turn into trash if it would support
external HTML editors. You would not use it, I would not use it. But I
dont use IMAP neither.

(PS: I described the US market as this is the biggest, most
influencing one for any product... As I am from Hungary, and hope that
US people dont think, it is an offense. Those are my observations. In
Hungary, we have more and more similar problems now that US has...
Stupid ministers, lying prime minister, etc. But at least -so far- we
are realistic in education.)

P2.: Paul, you helped me not once over the years, last time just
recently. I hope, you neither will take this mail as offense, or
something. It is just like a scientific conversation for me, where we
even "cut each other throats" over scientific facts/observations, but
when it is over, we are buddies and go drink a beer. I think, that is
called profession. If I would keep my mouth shut because I respect
you, but have different opinion, that would be called prostitution.
