I'm not sure whether we are veering into semantics or philosophy, but I would consider it "professionally unacceptable" in a way to leave one's marks in other people's registry, regardless of whether they find out or not. Philosophy of ethics doesn't require them to notice it, so I disagree with the definition above in this respect. Call it a bug if you want, because it doesn't work as expected.
