I understand that the text parser cannot automatically know where the
URL ends. Suggestions have already been posted.

But the text parser identifies the URL, as you know, by the prefix
http://_followed_by_something. There is no reason to stop highlighting
at high-ASCII characters, unlike a space where the text parser really
connaot know whether this belongs to the URL.

See above. You can also use another prefix, like ftp://foo.

Well, umlauts are allowed so they are not "bad". The encoding makes
problems for human readibility in emails;
http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/D%C3%ADa_Internacional_del_Libro is
correct, but difficult to read.

You are not alone, but I still think an accent or umlaut should not
stop the highlighting.
