if you "optimize" the stick "for performance", you get almost the same,
with maybe a bit of difference in the speed of the device itself.

apparently, you don't follow a constructive discussion: first, you say
sticks and "optimize for performance" is bad because of eventual data
loss in case of power outage. then you continue with arguing that
write-back flushing takes only one second after the "unplug" request. it
seems like arguing for the sake of arguing, which i'm not quite eager to
follow, sorry.
