You will have to give a little more detail about what "I haven't been able to get spell checking to work at all" really means. - What engine(s) and language(s)? - Doesn't mark any words as misspelled? - Doesn't correct them? - Are you using 'Auto correct', 'Check entire text, etc.? - Etc. > Using The Bat! v4.0.14.1 on Windows XP 5.1 Build 2600 Service Pack 3, v.3300 - You seem to be using v4.0.14.1. Which was your upgrade path to this version? Which was the last *.msi file you did a full installation from? - You seem to be using XP SP3 which, AFAIK, is a RC and has not been released yet. Why? Have you tried with SP2 only? - Can you export your registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\RIT\SpellCheck and include it as a text attachment?
