Target area, as you call it, is empty here and TB starts just fine.

As I've said, "start in" is empty here and TB starts just fine.

Not here. The 'bak' directory doesn't even exist.

install or during the install of the previous version?"

As already said, here "start in" is empty and my Batskin.xml works fine.
