Hi Everyone,

I have never lost a message with TB, for nearly three years that I
have had it - regular versions and beta versions. This morning, I
found that when I started TB, I got an error from windows that I
needed to run check disk (win XP, SP 3) because the inbox/tbb file was
corrupted and unreadable. When I ran check disk, it removed (what
was) the TBB files to a folder called FOUND.000 in the root
directory of my E:\ drive (where my documents, including mail files,
are stored). In that folder are two files - FILE000.chk (368 kb) and
FILE 001.chk (12.5 MB, same size as what .tbb for the inbox was).

I had used the TB backup utility about six weeks ago and was able to
restore all mail up through that date.

My questions, if you can answer them:

1. What could cause the .tbb file to become so corrupted it was
unreadable by Windows (I do regularly use the folder maintenance
feature);

2. Is there any way to recover what are in the chk files?

I should add that the in box was fine when I last checked mail before
shutting down the pc (2 AM) and the detection of corruption was first
noticed by windows when I started up TB around 8 AM upon first boot up
of the PC. I also have learned that I should back up mail once a week
- not once every 4-6 weeks!

Thanks for any help here.

Bob Riley
