Hello Dwight, >> And this brings up the question in the Subject: Should a 'Read' or >> 'Replied' filter move a Parked message? > > Right now, the parked message is not being moved, as I understand what > you are telling us.
Right. It is copied. > When one parks a message, the reason presumably is to keep it from > being moved or deleted. When one has a filter wihich moves a message, > presumably it is because one wants to have the content of the message > put in the other place. Right again. Normally, my Read and Replied filters will move messages from Inbox-Known to 'personal folders' when I read or reply to them. Why would I park one of these messages before reading or replying to them? Exactly, because I do not want them moved and, in my case, I don't want them copied either. Now that I know the behaviour, and whether it is WAD or bug, I can easily avoid Parked messages from being copied if I add an "iid not parked" condition to my filter. However, the question remains: if a move action in a Read or Replied filter should _copy_ the message, or not. > Since the result of the user's actions in wanting the message in two > places is to have the message in two places, ti seems that copying the > message is the right solution. As explained above, that is not my case. > The only alternative to copying the parked message would be to stop > and ask whether to move the message. I don't think that is what one > would want either. Of course stopping and asking would not be reasonable. But the alternative could also be to neither move nor copy it. Why not? -- Best regards, Miguel A.
