I see that the default is 10.  What symptoms would I get if 1) the 
number is too high; and if 2) the number is too low?

BTW, is this related to your IMAP support? Were there other
IMAP-related changes in the last 90 days, or are others plannned? I
think your IMAP support is pretty good right now, albeit a bit
complicated to set up compared to Windows Live Messenger, Outlook 2003
or Opera's M2. In fact, however, TB is indeed my most used IMAP
program.  I think TB's setup is easier to get through than 
Thunderbird's, although Thunderbird has a good reputation for IMAP 
service.
