All of this about gmail's settings for marking messages for deleting or non-deleting messages after POP retrieval is familiar to me. It is why I eventually (four months ago) chose to go to gmail's IMAP system. However, I also realize that the IMAP system is probably not feasible for people with dialup connections (I have a DSL connection). I do note that for gmail's POP retrieval, they give you three options for what to do after retrieval: 1. Delete gmail's copies from the server 2. Archive gmail's copies 3. Leave gmail's copies in gmail's inbox. My experience, when I did use gmail's POP system (four years?), was that (unlike other POP systems I've used in years past), gmail's POP system ignores the instructions you have given your mail application regarding retrieval options. -- Take Care, Bob -- Using The Bat! 4.0.34.25 (ALPHA) Windows XP 5.1 build 2600 Service Pack 3 ________________________________________________________ Current beta is 4.0.34.25 (ALPHA) | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
