There are a lot of RSS Readers which are based on Java and availiable on many platforms - there for. I am used to dedicated applications for each special purpose, but if this is unavoidable to be a target for The_Bat, i would do IMAP and calendar first - of course. And maybe it is time to think about, if you could split The_Bat into modules - if you do not need calender, could you choose to unselect it in the install? Most the best, if this could be feasible, is to make lightning be able to plug into The_Bat...
