The program can be executed, that means it can be decoded. You can make that more or less difficult, but all that's needed is someone who enjoys the challenge and a generic unpacker will be available faster than you can say "impossible what?" Don't you know the story about that old game, "Buck Rogers" I believe it was? The developers had implemented bullet-proof (or, in this case, laser-proof) copy protection. They were so sure and so proud of themselves that they put a message into the code: "If you can read this, call Buck at <phone number>." A crafty hacker got his hands on the program the day it was released. He didn't really need it, but was intrigued by the bullet-proof protection. So he cracked the protection - it took him a few hours. When he happened onto the message, he just for the fun of it dialled it up: "Hello?" "Hi... Ähm - is this Buck...?" "What??? You can't have it beaten already!! We just started sales this monday, it's not possible!!"
