Because messages are being marked for deletion at this point. You can
cancel session and next time not to download those messages which
already have been deleted. Note that this will be only if will you
will cancel session with cancel button and wait for downloading of
current message.
This is because MUA can issue dele command at any time of the session
and server will accept this command, but physically will destroy
marked for deletion messages only after a proper session shutdown to
prevent data loss.
