Hello Gerd,

Historians believe that Sun, 28 Jan 2001 at 14:32 GMT +0100 was when,
Gerd Ewald [GE] typed the following:

<snip>

>> Maybe this variation from the help file one will help. Suppose you
>> have two sentences on a single line:

GE> Ooops, I should have a closer look to the English help file. I usually use
GE> the German one.

I see. How is the German help file with respect to regexps? The
English one is very good as a reference, but hard to use when one is
totally new to regular expressions.

GE> Great, that's it. It made "plopp" in my brain!

Excellent.

GE> I tested this one in the new German help file regex-test-feature.
GE> Works perfect.

That's good to hear. A question, what is the "help file
regex-test-feature"? That does not exist in the English help.

Personally, I have been using a Quick Template and replies to test my
expressions.

>> Is it any clearer now?

GE> Yes, definitely. May be it was a small step for you, but be assured it was
GE> a very big jump for me! Thank you again!!

No problem. I think this is one of those things where it is hard to
learn. You have to wrestle with it for a while, and suddenly it will
make sense.

>> (I'll keep asking until you stop asking good
>> questions. Keep them coming.)

GE> Haha, thanks. I will do that. Thanks for your patience!

No problem.
