strategy, not TB!'s use),

That statement presupposes that "major money" is to be had by
competing w/ M$ on it's own ground, rather directing a product to
where to market is headed, i.e. being ahead of the game. In fact, M$
has played catch-up from the very start by transferring money to
those who *were* ahead of the game, i.e. had a better product that
they would assimilate (buy out) when possible, using cash obtained
by having gotten the jump themselves on the open architecture
(clone) end of the Graphic User Interface movement, in spite of
having an inferior product.

Businesses die from lack of a market or from not being competitive
in an existing one.
But IBM is a much bigger company than M$, in spite of having lost
the clone GUI race. The vision that went into OS/2 held true for
them in other areas of computing. They are a service oriented rather
than a product oriented company, with better than most integration
and a more coherent vision of what computing needs.

That's going backwards, not forwards. RITLabs is not going to be
competitive on M$'s terms. It's best bet to get there first to where
M$ *should* have been (or be). That niche is capable of drawing the
"plain-vanilla Windows users" market along, since M$ will either
copy TB! features or buy TB! from RITLabs in order to integrate it's
technology into OL.
That's OMEO (one man's educated opinion.
