Hi Solid,
Historians believe that Sun, 21 Jan 2001 at 16:52:27 GMT +0700 was when,
solid_snake [SS] typed the following:
SS> I like to talk about regexp
SS> How you can know the name "A . Curtis Martin" to Allie ? take a look
SS> your quotes..
I have an Address book entry for A.C.Martin. I get the first name
from there using the %ABxxxPPP macros. See the help file for more
info.
SS> And How to change A . Curtis Martin to be AM not to "ACM" ?
I have a series of regexps that create the full name of the person the
way I want it to appear. These macros clean up a whole bunch of cases.
I then have a regexp that pulls up to the first three initials from
the name. Then using the %QuoteStyle macro, I get the quote prefix.
I don't think I'll post those quick templates since they are pretty
convoluted and they make my posts unique. Sorry.
However, if I can give you pointers if you try to come up with your
own regexps to do the task.
SS> Oh yeah..some people using name like "A . Curtis Martin", and if I use
SS> %OFromFName the string just "A", how to make it "Curtin" ?
You can't. "A" is the first name. You need to use address book
entries or some very complicated regexp. I recommend the address book
method.
SS> One more..,
SS> What is new on TheBat beta version ? between TheBat 1.49 ?
I don't remember. Perhaps a quick search of the TBBETA archives will
turn up the answer.
SS> Oh yeahhh..this is almost forgotten, what is Template from string
SS> stored on Clipboard ?
To paste the contents of the clipboard into your template, use:
%CLIPBOARD

OK, I'm weird! But I'm saving up to become eccentric.
