Hi Mbone,

On 20 June 2001 at 12:14:48 -0500 (which was 18:14 where I live)
[EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote to Dierk Haasis and made these points:

Mgcu> Fixed-pitch fonts, they seem to be favored always on German

The Bat! is Moldovan in origin.

Mgcu> I noticed AK Mail uses them too. Without starting up the
Mgcu> discussion again, why is that?

Fixed pitch is favoured on email clients that support ASCII text
correctly and don't have leanings towards being an HTML publishing
vehicle.

The TB editor has many features (text justification, column
presentation, WYSIWYG) all of which absolutely depended upon fixed
pitch fonts to work properly. This is likely to change in the future,
but speaking personally I'm in no rush to see that happen.
