Hi Alexander,

I'm familiar with the RFC what I'm looking for is a *specific*
implementation answer for TB. Corelating messages and originators is
much easier when one has multiple data sources. Knowing how a
message-id is generated may provide additional information, or at least
rule out an assumption (for instance, the timezone not being relevant to
the timestamp in a TB message-id is at least interesting data.)

Another example is that Outlook Express places the originating host's IP
address in the message-id field- obviously an advantage when starting to
track the path of a message.

Surely someone must know what data TB uses to generate the first portion
of its message-ids?
