Yes, because his first name starts with N.  From the help file:

| QUOTESTYLE = "expression"     specify the quotation prefix to be

|   The expression can be any of the following:

| NONE  use an empty prefix (the standard)
| I     use the initials of the sender of the original message (the default)

| N     use the full name of the sender of the original message
| F     use the first name of the sender of the original message
| L     use the last name of the sender of the original message
| =text use the "text" as the prefix, e.g. %QUOTESTYLE="=-|"

That's luck.  Essentially you've confused TB, so it assumes you want
text.  However, as the help file states, you need "=text".

I simply wasn't cool enough for them (whomever they were) to offer
