QED - the list servers do it.

BTW - you'll notice that PGP prefaced my first attempt with a '- '.
Do you know why? I do. Because it is a *known fact* that some unix
relay servers will corrupt message lines that start with 'From '.
Such behaviour corrupts PGP signed messages and invalidates the
signature.

I don't believe it has anything to do with where the server is
located though...
