No problem at all with TheBat! or with SocketWatch (a time
synchronization program), when I'm logged in as an admin.

I haven't tried logging in as admin in the safe mode, and then
changing the connections. Instead I installed FaJo XP (there's a link
to a description at http://www.fajo.de/ ). Thehereafter when Windows
XP Home ran in the usual mode, the Security tab appeared in the
file/folder properties. The permissions could be checked and they
remained during subsequent usual mode system system starts. However,
neither TheBat! nor SocketWatch ran for limited users like it ran for
an administrator. For instance, I still could not add words (my last
name for instance) to either of TheBat!'s dictionaries.

I got Windows XP Professional Upgrade. I'll probably upgrade and try
again. What a hassle.

Using: The Bat! v2.12.00, BayesIt! 0.5.9,
       MyMacros 1.11, gMacrosPlugin 0.80
       Windows XP v5.1 - Build 2600 - Service Pack 2
