Hi, all,
On 24/09/1999, at 21:00,
Philippe Gouillou (mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED])
regrouped the troops and said:

TF>> This was very educational, thanks. But how does this help the machine
TF>> to tell spam from legit mail? I don't think there is a way, since it
TF>> is the *content* of a mail that makes it a spam. I know that a mail
TF>> from "Svetlana, the Russian Beauty" will be spam, and I know that a
TF>> subject "Want to get rich quickly?" is a spam, but my machine does
TF>> not.

PG> I do completely agree. How many people in this list will have
PG> directly and automatically filtered this mail to the Trash ?
*I* filtered it, not to the trash, but to the 'spam' folder, which is
filtered with $ in text or subject.

PG> It's
PG> not it's so much interesting, but it's an example. Only Human
PG> action can do it.
About the final decision, you're true. But to give an early warning,
it is possible. I was, a while ago, working around the XXX mails with
the french Minitel. As the site earns money all the time people is
connected, there was a "telewar" to rob the clients of each other. The
problem was that, to rob the clients, one must connect and pay :)))

So I made a keyword system to filter potential robbers : they could
get the posts sent to them, but any post they sent was read by an
operator who chose, to let it go if it is clear and to block it if it
contained "come with me on 3615 code Pirate, and I'll suck you off",
or something like that. In french, of course...

At this time, the operator may become a "shadow" of the people the
post was sent to, and reply, and keep the robber connected all the
time he could to have him paying :-))))

PG> But the solution of Leif Gregory transmitted by Marck D.
PG> Pearlstone to make believe the adress is not good seems to be very
PG> good : Thanks a lot.
I loved it, too.

PG> A bientt
A+
PG> Philippe

PG> Je le sais, sa facon d'etre a moi parfois vous deplait, autour d'elle et moi le
silence se fait, mais elle est, elle est ma chance a moi, ma preference a moi
Je crois bien que c'est "quelquefois". C'est gal, j'adore la
chanson...
btw : this cooky line is very long and, so, may go outside the screen.
To avoid this, a good trick is to insert '\' in the line of your
cookies file where you want the line to be cut in your post.
