Right. I get this far and about blew up. If you had quoted properly
maybe you would have avoided this mistake, but here is the first few lines
from your lousy, piss-poor quoting from me.
SL>> However, this is not how it works. TB! does, indeed, do IMAP incorrectly.
SL>> It uses it as a glorified POP.
Now, Michael, I am pissed because I am tired of people not reading what I
wrote and then stating I've written something different than I did. So,
please, given these two lines tell me how the HELL did I not understand what
you were saying and where did I said it was treating it like a local mailbox,
HMM?
I DIDN'T!! IF YOU HAD TAKEN 3 SECONDS TO *READ* WHAT I WROTE YOU'D SEE
THAT I SAID IT WAS USING IMAP AS A GLORIFIED POP AND IT WAS DOING IT
INCORRECTLY!
I don't think I could have been any clearer than that.
Furthermore, your message only confirmed what I wrote! That IMAP was a
protocol for access and administration of remove mailboxes. Your quoting of
the appropriate RFC...
>>From RFC 1730:

...mirrors what I wrote just after the first two lines in the first
paragraph.
SL>> IMAP is supposed to be remote access and administration of mailboxes as
SL>> if they were local. This means that the mail would show up, but would
SL>> show up as read. Any chances you made from one client would show up in
SL>> the other client.
So, again, you failed to read what was written.

You know, we have a saying in my region which is used quite pervasively
in the 2nd grade. "No shit, Sherlock". That is exactly what I said. Now I
suggest two things.
1: Learn how to quote properly.
2: Learn how to read what is written before spouting off that the person on
the other end doesn't understand what was written. You look like an utter
fool when you quote them and in those quotes they have clearly stated what you
are spewing in 3-5 lines compared to your 80-100.
Yeah, *NOW* I'm pissed.
