All versions I've used since last year (even before html support was
offered) will do that, and it's one of the things I like about
Calypso. The last v. I used was 3.00.00. The latest as of a couple of
months ago was 3.00.03, which after being installed over the earlier
version crashed for good on opening, making 50mb of email
inaccessible, since Calypso Mailboxes are embedded in the program
itself (and will download mail) and opening them requires a password-
meaning they're encrypted.

Calypso tech support is worse than non existent. Not only do they know
nothing, they could care less. I did uninstalls, reinstalls, OS
upgrades (they wanted me to do *all* the Win95 upgrades on the ms
site). They left me hanging for a week at a time (while week after
week went by) and *never* did anything effective except export for me
a 5 mb mailbox that also took them another week.

(One of our good brothers on this list had it back to me the day after
receiving it, a 5-10 minute job he said, and he sent me jpeg snapshots
of the screens Calypso shows to do that, apologized for (and forwarded
immediately) the new mail that was inadvertently downloaded (as
stated, the mailboxes contain all configuration data for all accounts)
and will download if not paused or set to open off line), which
happened *also w/ Calypso tech support, although they didn't even
mention that). He (I'm not saying who, since I have discussed posting
this with him), did *much* more than those incompetent and
irresponsible fools at Calypso tech support who are getting paid for
it bothered to do. And they wouldn't even consider doing the same on the
45 mb mailbox, which I offered to send by messenger on a Qic 80 tape.

All I really wanted at the end was my data, but not even that was
forthcoming. I registered Calypso in June, then went on an extended
trip shortly afterwards w/ no Internet access. When I established my
present location, this happened. So I got no more than a few days use
of the program for having registered it. Remember that even if there
*is* a problem with my win95, several other email clients are running
fine, as was Calypso v. 3.00.00 before "upgrading". (Reinstalling it
did no good however - something is corrupted with it in the registry
or somewhere, but Calypso tech support made no suggestions in this
regard).

TB is a much better program in any case. And the users group Calypso
referred me to had posted 4 messages all year, the last one have been
posted months back. Calypso is pretty and has a few nice features I'd
like to see on TB - but TB has many more of its own, that are more
important anyway - and it's stable. The excellent TB tech support and
users group are icing on the cake. There is no better email client
around at present, as far as I'm concerned, and the v. 2 will address
many of the issues needing refinement.

Calypso had no Spanish spell checker and it's English one is the worst
I know of. I had to export words from there to Netscape or a wp in
order to be sure. It'll only download from one account at a time,
also. No refund was offered, either. (A copy of this may go the Tech
Support Horror Story Dept. of zdnet or pcworld - I forget which has
that). So much for Calypso.

I am a TB man and Calypso can burn you know where as far as I'm
concerned). (nd v. 2 of TB *will* permit editing received mail).

This was going to be short.
