Point well taken but funny, it's not as bad as it sounds, especially
since I've been through what you mentioned on the windows side, ie, using
a whole bunch of e-mail clients and newsreaders and having to use each
apps unique editor. Most windows based editors for these application types
are quite basic and remarkably consistent in how they function. One may
add an additional function here or there while one may be WYSIWYG while
another isn't. Basic differences in a basic interface.

TB!'s editor indeed took some getting used to and once you get used to
it you tend to really appreciate it. Look at how many have been protesting
that it behaves like all the other editors out there. It does indicate
some consistency in how the editors for e-mail and news clients for
windows behave out there.

Suppose all the apps came with their own advanced editors as say VIM.
Suppose Pegasus packed WinEdt type functionality in it's editor while,
Eudora packed NoteTab Pro type functionality in it's editor, while PMMail
packed Ultra Edit type functionality in it's editor. All these editors
have a behavior and features set that takes time to master and acquire a
hand-in-glove type relationship with. It would be *then*, that people
would be shouting foul until the world ends, protesting that they have to
be relearning a whole new editor.
