Hi Steve,
On 17 January 2000 at 00:41:56 GMT -0800 (which was 08:41 where I
live) [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote and made these points:

Just for the sake of pedantry here, the TB editor does have the
persistent block option which *will* allow that. If only the "jump to
block start" Ctrl-Q/B worked as advertised <sigh>. However - on with
the debate, which I don't mean to disrupt in the least with this
random interjection.
SL> Release shift, PGUP 9 times, up arrow, SHIFT, PgDn 9 times,

SL> In joe:

Almost the same in the TB editor with Persistent block mode on.
I do accept, in general, the argument regarding the potential fluency
of use with an external editor. Personally, I wouldn't switch off the
TB internal editor, which I find to be streets ahead of most text
editors for writing e-mail, based on the Delphi IDE key mapping (I
program in Delphi, so it's an easy switch for me) and is only
frustrating when auto-format runs riot.
Externally - ashamed to say I still use Brief for any serious editing
I need to do :-(. I set it up to match Vedit when I switched over
about 14 years ago and can't get off that key mapping. Very sad. I
certainly wouldn't want to use it to edit my e-mail messages
(shudder). But that's just me.
