A capability for calling an external editor, while desirable, would not
solve this problem. TB! has both a built-in editor and a built-in
message viewer. The latter has no editing functions. You can use it
to look at messages but not to edit them. The problem is that there is
no way to call this built-in viewer to look at attached .EML files even
though the viewer is capable of displaying them.
To illustrate the problem, I enclose two identical copies of a sample
.EML file that I created with Microsoft Outlook Express. The first
attachment is named "sample.eml". The second attachment is named
"sample.msg".
TB! 1.41 can open "sample.msg" with its internal viewer but has to call
Outlook Express to open "sample.eml".
