Hi,
I'm using The Bat! Version 1.42 Beta/4
Serial Number CCA4F9B8
under Windows NT 5.0 Build 2195
and would like to report a bug
The bug description:
I use two cookie files, ie, TB!'s own cookie file and a remote
cookie file. I therefore use cookies from both by inserting either
'%COOKIE' or '%COOKIE="<path>\<cookie filename>"' in my templates.
There's one particular signature template that I use which includes
macros to insert cookies from *both* cookie files.
Now, I've been noting that since I started using the remote
cookie file, wheneever I create a new message that uses cookies *only*
from the TB! cookie file as defined by '%COOKIE', a cookie from the
remote file would be inserted instead!! Sounds bizarre but this is
true. What was more bizarre is that if I changed the name of the
remote cookie file or changed its name, instead of a cookie being
added to from tag.txt as it should be (tag.txt is the name of the TB!
cookie file), I get the statement, 'Unable to find <path><remote
cookie file>'. When I correct the path in my quick templates where the
cookies from the remote cookie file are indeed being used, the new
messages created again use cookies from the remote file instead of
tag.txt as I defined. Funny, if I generate a reply to a message or
forward a message, my generated signature will include a cookie from
tag.txt as it should.
I've come to realize that the %ISSIGNATURE macro is the
problem. The quick template that I use that uses cookies from both
files has the %ISSIGNATURE macro. Upon deleting this macro, the
problem disappeared. Upon, reintroducing it, the problem reappeared.
I have therefore concluded that, if you create a signature
quick template which includes macros to insert cookies from more than
one cookie file including tag.txt, creating new messages where the new
message macro includes a cookie insertion from tag.txt (as defined by
inserting just '%COOKIE') a cookie from the remote file would be used
instead IF the %ISSIGNATURE macro is being used.
