Actually, it's the 'justify on wrap' option that does it. To
adjust the lines so that all have the same character length, adjustments
are made to the word spacing. Justfication looks pretty horrible with a
fixed width font because the adjustments can't be as subtle as with
proportional fonts, but are one or more character widths instead.
