OK, agreed it is not technically "stupid", which btw I did not mean.
What I meant is, I like the standards when they are useful. As some
mail programmes have difficulties with the numbering scheme I don't
like the default behaviour of TB!.

If you want to see how deep in the thread a message is, have you
thought of TB! threading option? That's what I have enabled. Aside
from the problems with navigation (doesn't matter which, other
programmes like Agent can do it alright, so maybe it's a small issue,
the developers will address in v2.0) this works great to see where the
message is. It just needs sorting by standard references or date.

Another thing: I like having a warning to include a subject line.
Can't actually see why one wants *not* to add a subject -- just to
make it more difficult to assess the worth of the message?
