THANK YOU!  Your instructions worked perfectly (except for
one odd thing) and I'm back to 4.2.44.2 without losing any
mail!


The odd thing was a problem that occurred during the install
when there was an apparently error due to a missing install
resource.  The missing resource turned out to be the installer
for TB 4.0.16 which hasn't been on my system for quite some
time.

I also thought this was a good time to remove old, leftover
TB entries from the Add/Remove software list, so after I ran
the 5.0.8 uninstall, I ran the uninstall for "The Bat!" (no
version number) which actually did /something/ and ended with
a message box saying "The Bat has been removed from your
computer. Sad but true."  There was a reference to the 4.0.16
installer in the database, but Control Panel would not show
any options (like 'uninstall') for it, so I just deleted that
entry with another tool.

Regardless, I'm happy again.  TB is working correctly for the
first time in a couple weeks!  Thanks again!
