Well, it was eons ago that I picked up this shortcoming but as
with all software that I've used, they never always do everything the
way that I want them to in all respects. I therefore have to find ways
to make the features that they /do/ have, work to my advantage. This may
very well involve using more than one supported feature to produce an
effect similar to that of single more direct /but/ unsupported feature.
What I've done is to minimise or rather centralize where I
manage incoming mail. In fact I read all incoming mail from two folders
only. Read and Reply filters, manual and automatic, move the messages to
their various folders after I've read/replied to them. I can then create
rules that don't involve actually moving messages without having to
worry about the TB!'s limitation in this regard. I make two filters for
each folder if I wish to use the same filter for both. To differentiate
messages in these two common initial holding areas, I use colour groups
filtering.
See what I mean? Takes some doing but it's one setup that works.
With TB! as is I can only suggest ways to best approximate your needs.
Thanks for the spirited responses to my terse initial post. :-)))
