this can particularly be a problem because of how reply addresses to lists are constructed. This message is addressed to MAU with the list address in carrots following. If I were trying to replace that address with one to MAU@private.address to send a private comment about something on the list, my inattention might result in my choosing the list address again, instead of the private one, and my catty comment going to the list as not intended. While this has never happened to me with Miguel, I have done it with others, and it can be embarrassing. -- Dwight A.
