I have thought my Attachments directory was huge, and I spotted several .jpg files in it that should have been deleted when I deleted the parent messages. I just did a test and sent a mail to myself with an image attached. I deleted the message and then emptied the Trash folder. The image has not been deleted from the Attachments folder, even after closing and re-opening TB! Tried this several times, attachments not deleted...
