If the Windows 8 version has "Pro" in its name and came pre-installed on the computer, the licence apparently includes "downgrade rights" to Windows 7 Professional or Windows Vista Business. > I've yet to hear back from RIT Labs on the code block > they were supposed to send since I supplied them with > the name and email address of the original purchaser. Have you thought of Keepiing 8 but running 7 in a virtual machine? And if you do decide to replace 8 with 7, two cautions seem to be a recurring theme in my search results. First, before ditching Windows 8 change the machine's BIOS from "UEFI-mode" to "legacy mode" and disable "Secure Boot." Second, make sure there are Windows 7 drivers for all the various bits of your computer. -- Best regards MFPA mailto:2014-667rhzu3dc-lists-gro...@riseup.net Maybe YOU have nothing to hide; that still leaves plenty you want to hide from!
