Fellow Bats,
Here is my tale of woe. I managed to destroy some file(s) which
prevented me from using my modem. The only way to restore the
damaged file(s) was to reload Win95 which I could do without
reformatting my hard drive (system recovery CD). After this I was
able to connect to the WEB with an old version of NetScape,
proving I had restored the damaged file(s). I took this opportunity
to upgrade from Win95 to Win98. No point in getting everything
to work again in Win95 if I'm just going to change the OS anyway.
So now Win98 is up and running but my old Bat! isn't. When I ran the
file "the_bat.exe" v1.44, The Bat! installed as if it was a first time
installation. When I look in the directory containing The Bat!, all my
old directories are still there. I checked the TBUDL archives but
wasn't able to turn up anything relating to this problem specifically.
Can anybody help?
TIA
Jack LaRosa
