I wouldn't class me as a true power user but I do agree with Des that
it would be a terrible thing if The Bat! became simplified. As M$
proved if you simplyfy anything enough anyone will use. I get get huge
amounts of e-mails that read like this:
the whole idea of having a table for me is so that i could have a border How have I
managed
to put them off and give them the wrong impression It lack images, content, it is a
bit dull, but
then agian my Dad hasn't given me to work with and I don't know much HTML and I don't
know
any facey stuff like Java script, I am just a biggine

It is an old Delphi problem. It's part of the Delphi text box which is
one of the reasons we have to put up with fixed width fonts. Delphi 5
supports much cooler text boxes which work properly. It's fine until
you need to re-edit a message.

I've seen some lamers who have difficulty working out how to shut
their computer down.

New lamer users would start using The Bat! but many experienced users
would leave in droves. I like being able to use regular expression
(albeit not very well). I like the filtering capabilities and the
sheer power of TB!. Long live TB! may the bat fly forever.

Who cares?

The lameness filter would use advanced statistical techniques such as
a:
length of sentence counter
ratio of all caps words to total number of lower case words
punctuation meter (not incorrect punctuation, just the lack of it)
non capitalization of i alert
As we all know the real problem is not users writing entirely in caps,
it's users who write lengthy e-mails only using lower case and no
punctuation.

Offend them as much as you want. Like they'd get access to this list.
