Hmmm, I'm quite sure ZoneAlarm is your problem. Try this simple
server software called X-Ray. It has also provided a work around for me.

If you're having problems configuring it, I'm willing to help
off-list. You may find it useful for other purposes, such as modifying
outgoing mail headers and downloading messages from multiple POP
accounts to a single mailbox.
