A picky point here, but this is an option under the Files and Directories
portion of the account properties. Storing them seperately has the
advantage you point out, plus the fact that it is easy to scan attachments.
Storing them in the message bodies has the advantage that when moving the
message between accounts, the attachments stay associated with the message.
There are other benefits and shortcomings to each of these methods, but it
isn't terribly important for this discussion.
