necessary since a template consists of text which could easily be copied

If you feel that you have to send an attachment, using the .PNG
format with the settings to use 8bit to 256 colors and not to dither the
image, makes the image size much smaller and more resolute. For example,
my template editor window in JPG format with reasonable resolution is
70kb while in PNG format with equal clarity is 9.8kb.
