There are two modes in which you can compose messages, ie, in auto-format
mode or with auto-format disabled. This auto-formatting of pasted text
should be done with only one of these modes and the auto-format mode is
the natural no-brainer <g> candidate. :-) Steve is right in that a good
editor will not change the formatting of pasted text unless explicitly
requested. This is what the auto-format mode is about.
