hacking batpgpxx.dll

What is involved in creating a dll to interface with something other than pgp?
A dll that works with the bat.

Does this file TB_Addon.dll have something hardcoded in to do it?

What if someone had a crypto++ dll could that be made to work?  Can we hack the 
resources on the S/MIME and get something else running in
that slot?
