Hello TBUDL,

Im a new user and was somehow surprised when I discovered that the discussion about
the bat is made in a mailing list. I considered this to be a thing
of the stoneage of the internet, when there where no WWW-pages and
little newsservers, so email was the main mean of passing
information. My question is, why dont we create a newsgroup or a
forum in a www-page for posting all this stuff. This would also
spare bandwith since you wouldnt have to download all the messages
each time. You just download the header line and afterwards download
those articles you are interested in.
This is also effective for users that have no access to a
newsserver(like myself). Simply go to www.dejanews.com there you can
  have free access to news.
Another alternative is to make a forum on a www-page. I think
there are already some pages who host a forum for free(they place
some ads on the pages then).
Any of those too solutions would be better, more effective,
etc... and you wouldnt have to download all those articles each day
  to your mail folders....
