Some of us have things on the machine that we'd prefer stay there :-).
It would not be convenient to find everything gone, or, worse yet,
messed up in ways that are hard to fix. You're lucky to have nothing
of any value on your computer.

Agreed - I'm not suggested forcing anyone. M$ does far too many things
'for' me, in ways I don't like. That's more like forcing, from my
point of view. I'd prefer having the option.

I don't worry about them either, but I find the Bat reminders useful
for younger family members, who don't always remember such things<g>.

Agreed - I was not suggesting otherwise. I didn't want to have to
download security patches 2-3 times a week just to keep even, as with
M$. Often these patches mess up something else, too, especially if you
don't have all ther latest versions of everything - but that's what
happens when everything is tied together, I guess.
