Select in the control panel the setting that OE is the default email
program and click on any link to write a mail. very likely the thing
will tell you its not the default emailer and do you want to make it
that.

Select yes and be the target of all the MS macro virus/trojan and
other attacks (g)

For me using the bat isnt only that I like it better, its that its
much more secure that the microsoft programs. Added its extreemly
likely to lose address book and mail if you get a windows crash or at
least cost you much more for a computer shop to recover old mail etc.
