Hi all,
Since upgrading to 1.46c, I've been having a couple of minor problems
with the Mail Ticker.
First, configuration: I've used folder properties to exclude certain
mail from showing up on the Ticker (pray tell, is there any way to do
this from the Sorting Office instead of in Folder properties? it seems
a rather strange omission as a filter action!). Age limit is set to 30
seconds. Set to pop up automatically.
problems:
1) the ticker doesn't disappear after all new messages have scrolled
through. It just gets stuck on "X new messages". To get it to close
without toggling off automatic view (I don't want to do this because I
tend to forget to toggle it back on), I can sometimes check my mail
again and hope there are no new messages, or I can click on a folder
that has new messages in it.
2) The # of messages that scroll by is less than the total # of
messages it says should scroll by. And then it gets stuck as
described in 1). I keep looking for these extra messages, and I
haven't found them; as far as I can tell, all the email that should
scroll by is, even if the Ticker can't count properly.
Is anyone else having these problems? And a question about the age
limit: I thought that that described the time each message should last
on the ticker from the first moment I saw its headers. Is this wrong?
does the age limit mean "time from the moment the *first* message's
headers appear on the ticker" ?? If the latter, then perhaps my ticker
is just set for too short an age limit?
