On 01 November 2000, I wrote and made these points on the subject of
"Run External Program":

Replying to myself:
Well, I think I found the reason of the problem. I should have
included "C:\name_of_file.exe" %1%1 in the Run External Program.
I omitted the duplicate %1 and that clogged the execution of the
exe file. Anyway, I don't know why it should be double %1, but it
works like this and this is the most important thing.
